Aston Martin released production and performance data photos of its top Valkyrie supercar, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Valkyrie, which costs between 2 million and 3 million, will be delivered to the owners by the end of 2019. A limited edition of 150 street cars and 25 cars have been sold out. Can the owner wait for the price to rise?
Taking into account the ultimate dream of F1 designer Adrian neuwe, the super sports car draws heavily on F1 racing technology and is powered by an extremely powerful hybrid system with a maximum output of 1,160 hp.
The hybrid system includes a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine and electric drive components developed by Rimac and Integral Powertrain. Cosworth’s 12-cylinder engine was designed and built for Valkyrie.
Cosworth’s general manager Bruce Wood said that the V12’s first prototype had a target of 1000 horsepower and the engine itself was used as a stress component. On the Valkyrie track version, the V12 engine will be directly connected to the carbon fiber body, gearbox and rear suspension. The official sprocket and chain of the valve mechanism are placed at the rear to reduce high-speed noise disturbance to passengers.
The V12 engine uses out-of-cylinder injection instead of in-cylinder injection to meet emission regulations without the use of a gasoline particulate filter. Wood said that the engine weighs only 204 kilograms and the daily maintenance can last up to 100,000 kilometers. By the way, the 1.6-liter hybrid car used by Mercedes AMG in Project One has a service life of only 50,000 kilometers, so the V12 has a long service life.
Martin CEO Andy Palmer revealed that Valkyrie’s lap time at Silverstone is close to the F1, a top supercar with an aerodynamic package that produces up to 1,816 kg of downforce at top speed. And can produce up to 3 grams of lateral acceleration.
Valkyrie makes full use of a range of top accessories such as Alcon and Surface Transforms calipers and CFRP ceramic brake discs, as well as special engine controls, traction control and body stabilization systems developed by Bosch. Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2s high performance tires (front 20″ + rear 21″).
Everything about Valkyrie is unique. For example, the gearbox is not reversed.
In fact, Aston Martin Valkyrie is a top-class supercar that is more pure than Chiron and breaks our view of cars and even supercars.
